Nordrhein-Westfalen DE – Landscape garden
This landscape garden in North Rhine-Westphalia surrounds a country house in the English Arts and Crafts tradition, reactivated together with interior designer Gisbert Poeppler. Its central element is a swimming pond embedded in a rich perennial landscape. Wide lawn paths lead through seasonal flower compositions and pollinator-friendly habitats. The project demonstrates how private gardens can actively support biodiversity and climate resilience. A former concrete basin was renaturalized and linked to the new pond by a stream with stepping stones. Additional rooms - kitchen garden, rose garden, meadows, woodland planting and a formal courtyard - complete the spatial concept. The NRW project unites biodiversity, landscape architecture and long-term garden design for climate-aware private gardens.
