Atelier Wehrle

“We use the power of garden design to challenge conventions, reveal clarity and open the mind.” Atelier Wehrle is an internationally active boutique landscape atelier based in Potsdam and Ascona.

Our work reconnects people with nature and treats gardens as an essential part of everyday life. We design spaces where the seasons remain visible and tangible over time. For Manuel Wehrle and his team, an authentic relationship with nature defines true luxury.

House and garden always reflect personality. Through precise concept design, planting strategy, high-quality materials and excellent craftsmanship, we create bespoke outdoor spaces shaped by context, history and long-term use.

Portrait of Barbara Nephuth

Barbara Nephuth

Landscape Architect, Site Manager

Barbara's love of gardens was awakened in 1995 at Hidcote Manor in England. Since then, she has been fascinated by landscaped garden spaces and plant compositions. After studying and working in the design of private gardens and as a plant planner in a landscape architecture firm, she has been working at Atelier Wehrle since January 2026. Discovering the special features of gardens and bringing their beauty to life through plants is her passion, which she puts into practice at the studio in plant planning with the signature style of Manuel Wehrle. She also supervises projects in construction management. In her free time, she indulges her urge to explore plants while hiking and cycling – preferably with friends or like-minded people. Having left the Bergisches Land region, she is looking forward to rediscovering the landscape in the far north. Besides her family, yoga is an important part of her life.

Portrait of Abu Shahma Rasheed

Abu Shahma Rasheed

Technical Draftsman

Abu comes from northern India. His career in design began with a degree in architecture and the conviction that the real magic happens in the spaces between buildings. After two years working as an architect in India, he moved to Germany to complete his master's degree at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences. Today, Abu lives in Potsdam and works on drawings that translate design ideas into concrete plans. He is convinced that a public space is successful when it solves a social problem and is visually appealing at the same time. In his free time, Abu watches cricket, goes to the gym and enjoys travelling with friends. When exploring new cities, he observes closely how people use public spaces – always on the lookout for ideas that make places lively and inviting.
